Chlorine dioxide submersible reactor

Submerged chlorine dioxide production

Chlorine dioxide is ideally suited as a biocide due to its specific properties. With submerged production it is possible to produce any quantity from basic chemicals.

Chlorine dioxide offers advantages that make it the ideal biocide in water treatment.

  • Chlorine dioxide dissolves biofilms
  • No formation of organic by-products
  • Effective in a pH range of 4 to 10
  • Easy monitoring of the process using redox potential

The video shows the patented submersible reactor CAT-210 being tested. Thanks to the unique, patented two-chamber technology, this reactor is able to produce chlorine dioxide with an efficiency of 99.4%. In contrast to other submerged reactors, there is no dilution in the reaction chamber due to edge flow. The output of the individual reactor can be varied in the range of 2 to 10 kg per hour.

The submersible reactor is operated with a submersible pump. This avoids unnecessary laying of hoses or pipes.

The submersible reactor is a pre-assembled system designed for the on-site production of chlorine dioxide. In the system, chlorine dioxide is produced through a chemical reaction using the so-called acid-chlorite process. Depending on the version selected, various components can be added. However, both versions have the same performance.

Generation can be started by external signals, the integrated timer or manually. It is controlled via a touchscreen.

The associated dosing system can be delivered either open or in a container.

The system is registered as a biocidal product within the EU for the following areas:

PT2: Disinfectants and algaecides

Products for disinfecting surfaces, fabrics, equipment and furniture that are not intended for direct contact with food or animal feed. Areas of application include swimming pools, aquariums, bathing water and other water, air conditioning systems, and walls and floors in both private and public, industrial and other areas used for professional activities.

PT4: Food and feed sector

Products for the disinfection of facilities, containers, cutlery and dishes, surfaces and pipes used in connection with the production, transport, storage or consumption of food or feed (including drinking water) for humans and animals.

PT5: Drinking water

Products for the disinfection of drinking water for humans and animals.

PT11: Protective agents for liquids in cooling and process systems

Products for protecting water and other liquids in cooling and process systems against attack by harmful organisms such as microbes, algae and mussels.
